Not all of Nyra’s childhood companions were born from flame, leaf, water, or starlight. Some came from places deeper — from dreams, imagination, and the act of creation itself.
Nyra first met Inky on a quiet evening when she sat alone with parchment and quill, trying to copy the runes her elders had shown her. She was tired, her lines messy, her hand smudged. As a droplet of ink rolled from the tip of her pen, it trembled on the page — then blinked.
The droplet lifted, stretching into a curious shape, as if deciding what it wanted to be. A blob, a bird, a dragon, then back again. Nyra gasped, half afraid, half enchanted. The droplet looked up at her with round, glistening eyes and giggled soundlessly, leaving little blotches of stars across the parchment. From that moment, she was never alone at her desk again.
Inky was not like Candle Flame, Whisperleaf, Luma, or Noctis. Where they were each steady in their forms, Inky was infinite. A reflection of Nyra’s own imagination, he could never be just one thing. One day, he would appear as a scholar scribbling runes, the next as a mischievous prankster splashing blotches, and another as a monstrous beast born from Nyra’s own subconscious fears.
To Nyra, this wasn’t frightening. It was liberating. Inky showed her that she could shape the world as she wished — that nothing was fixed, and every story could be rewritten.
And so the Nine Faces of Inky became part of her circle: whimsical, chaotic, wise, protective, terrifying, wondrous. They were not contradictions, but possibilities. Each face reminded Nyra that within imagination lies power — the power to dream, to reshape, to resist, and to create.
✨ In Nyra’s Elemental Flame Founder Edition, the Nine Faces of Inky will take form as her unique Allies. A droplet of ink, yes — but one that can change into anything at all
